On the Industry Day, board member Johan Celander, will give a talk about the interest organization MANEGEN!
MANEGEN is a Swedish interest organization for circus, variety and street performance. The members are artists, companies, producers and students. From the industry’s largest players such as Subtopia, Cirkus Cirkör and Dans- och Cirkushögskolan to smaller companies and artists from all parts of the country. Manegen brings together and represents circus, variety and street performance, and improves the conditions of professionals at different levels.
Manegen works mediating, and also organizes daily training for professional artists. In addition, Manegen works to create better working conditions and development opportunities for its members – as well as a stronger place for the genre – in the field of culture and in society in general.
Manegen is a member of Circostrada (European platform for circus and street art), Fedec (international network for circus education) and the Baltic Nordic Circus Network (BNCN).
Johan Celander is a director and dramaturg. Theater director at Östgötateatern (1997-2018), where in the 2010s he got circus into the theater’s overall repertoire. Member of the boards of Manegen, Cirkus Cirkör and Nycirkus Öst.
