ROPE MANIPULATION and OBJECT EXPLORATION

DEEP DIVE: Workshop with Alexis Rouvre (BE)

(photo: Bastien Guio)

Since 2010, Alexis Rouvre has been developing his work with rope manipulation, which has contributed to shaping his artistic identity.

Through a playful and philosophical approach that explores the question of renewal in juggling and object manipulation, Alexis invites participants to share the fundamental principles that guide his research: the relationship to dramaturgy, pleasure, and the notion of originality.

The workshop will begin with the introduction of rope manipulation vocabulary, followed by a discussion on its application to the participants’ own practices, and finally, a guided integration phase of the techniques and principles covered.

(3 hours, target group: Mixed, both professional circus artists, students from AFUK and other types of performing artists. Participants are welcome to bring their own ropes!)
